Jasmin Demil began her career as a preschool teacher. She developed an interest in investigating the interactions among children and their environment to understand, predict and change behavior for children's personal wellness and social-emotional development. She later obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Sonoma State University. Her research interest included motivational theories for teacher retention and better student learning outcomes.
Jasmin is now the coordinator for the Child Development and Education Apprenticeship program, where she focuses on growing work-based learning opportunities to meet the needs of Sonoma's everchanging workforce and helping to build a strong and vibrant talent pipeline through apprenticeships.
Before teaching, Jasmin worked in Germany, Poland, and Spain and traveled extensively around the globe. Jasmin uses her work and life experience working with people of different cultural backgrounds and values. Her professional focus is helping less-privileged students get their credentials to relish in a mindful, educated adult's life and thrive thereafter.
